Current status of the Ritter Ranch project as of March, 2023:
The Leona Valley Town Council has filed a lawsuit against the City of Palmdale and RdR Development. The lawsuit challenges the City's approval of the project. They based their approval on an Environmental Impact Report that was prepared 30 years ago. The developer claims that nothing has changed in 30 years. We all know how much the traffic has increased. There are also major concerns about water availability and placing thousands of houses on top of the San Andreas fault, in a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone.
LVTC has hired an attorney who is experienced in these types of cases. Filed documents can be found in the list at the bottom of this page. The next court hearing is scheduled for March 2023. Here is a link to the Palmdale City Council April 6, 2022 meeting agenda.
