Current status of the Ritter Ranch project as of October 2024:

The Leona Valley Town Council filed a lawsuit against the City of Palmdale and RdR Development.  The lawsuit challenged the City's approval of the project.  They based their approval on an Environmental Impact Report that was prepared 30 years ago.  The developer claimed that nothing changed in 30 years.  We all know how much the traffic has increased.  There are also major concerns about water availability and placing thousands of houses on top of the San Andreas fault, in a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone. 

A court decision was issued in early March ruling that the current Town Council is barred from suing due to a settlement agreement entered into by the original Town Council Board 30 years ago.
